Miley Cyrus may have upped her street cred thanks to a Twitter shoutout from Jay-Z. The rapper, who mentioned Miley in a song off his newly released "Magna Carta Holy Grail," spoke about the reference in a rare appearance on the social media site Monday.
When a fan asked Jay-Z about his commenting on the singer's "twerking" in his track "Somewhere In America," Jay-Z said Miley "represents an old world's worst nightmare."
The 20-year-old former Disney star repeated his words on her own Twitter page
Call it what you want. But I don't see Mr. Carter shoutin any of you bitches out. #twerkmileytwerk ✌— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) July 8, 2013
Jay-Z re-tweeted her response, and he also refers to her as a "God," when asked if twerking could replace the Electric Slide at weddings!
Miley also made headlines a few years back when she name-checked Jay-Z in her hit single "Party in the USA." The singer's latest single "We Can't Stop" is climbing the Billboard Hot 100, currently sitting at number three on the chart.
