Students From Puerto Rico Get Helping Hand

State Senator Eric Lesser is praising  a decision to allow displaced students from Puerto Rico and the U.S.  Virgin Islands to pay in-state tuition at public colleges and  universities.

The Longmeadow Democrat says the state Board of Higher  Education is doing the right thing for students who have relocated due  to Hurricane Maria.

Lesser says the decision will help them continue  their studies and contribute to Massachusetts.

No word from state officials as to specifics on the number of expected enrollees nor is there an indication as to how much it will cost.
