Springfield mayoral candidate Linda O'Connell is suspending her campaign due to health concerns. In a statement, she says her decision is due to a sudden health condition that may not be fully resolved before election day.
Her campaign says there will be no further comment and asks that the family's privacy be respected. O'Connell is on the September 10th preliminary ballot along with Mayor Domenic Sarno and challengers Yolanda Cancel and Jeffrey Donnelly.
The top two finishers will advance to the November general election.
