Governor, Mayor Promote Economic Development

Governor Maura Healey appeared at Western New England University in Springfield on Tuesday to promote new economic development legislation.

The Mass Leads Act would invest millions of dollars into biotech, manufacturing, and life sciences initiatives.

Healey spoke at WNUE to highlight its focus on education in robotics and advanced manufacturing.

State Economic Development Secretary Yvonne Hao says the legislation would help Western Massachusetts close the salary gap with the eastern part of the state.
