People put the most crazy things for bumper stickers on their cars.
But I was driving around through Bloomfield the other day and found this on the middle of Cottage Grove Road.
"Poverty 101: One of the penalties for refusing to engage in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. You're going to be governed anyway. Why not have a say in the matter."
I don't know who you are. But I love you.
We are in a nation today that whines about everything including how much it rains, how much it didn't and how much gas is at the pumps. Yet with all the whining we do, you would figure that we would all do something about it.
When you rent an apartment and its in a bad area or the rent is too high, you usually do something about it. You either find a lower rent or a safer building.
However we don't do that with things that affect a lot more people. The premise that there is power in numbers is lost by those that have the numbers.
There are 200 people in the Massachusetts legislature. About that same number in the Connecticut legislature. There are 612 some odd members of congress.
Yet in Massachusetts there are 6 point 7 million.
Yet in Connecticut there are 3 point 6 million people.
And, yet in this nation today, 316 million people.
Isn't it about time that someone figure out how much more powerful we are over they and use it.
Otherwise, election nights aren't worth it.
