Attorney General Maura Healey says Massachusetts is part of a multi-state settlement with Western Union.
It resolves an investigation into complaints about wire transfers to send money to third parties involved in various schemes to defraud consumers.
The settlement requires Western Union to develop and put into action an anti-fraud program.
Western Union will also pay tens-of-millions-of-dollars to provide refunds to victims of fraudulent wire transfers, including Massachusetts victims.
