Three teenagers who were charged with setting fire to the former Massachusetts Career Development Institute Building are facing juvenile detention and jail time.
A statement issued Monday by Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni, Springfield Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant and Massachusetts Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey indicates two of the teens were sentenced to juvenile detention, and the third, who was charged as an adult, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in the Hampden County Correction Center in Ludlow.
All three were under the age of 18 when the Springfield building, which was closed in 2013, was destroyed from the fire last June.
Five firefighters were injured battling the blaze.
