Connecticut lawmakers are next up in an effort to change the way presidents are elected.
A hearing in Hartford is planned for later this week that will enter the state into the National Popular Vote Compact which would require electors to cast votes for the person who won the national popular vote rather than the electoral map vote.
Democrats have been frustrated of late seeing candidates win the White House without winning the popular vote.
In a separate hearing, lawmakers will also hear testimony on a measure that would declare the Electoral College the best system in order to elect a president.
