Body cameras are being discussed by Springfield City Council members.
A subcommittee met on Wednesday to talk about that, and placing cameras in police holding cells.
Springfield police currently don't wear the devices, unlike ten other departments in Western Massachusetts, despite calls for them to be worn by Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno and City Council President Orlando Ramos.
The public safety committee would have to approve the recommendation before the full council can act on it.
