Governor Charlie Baker is announcing a nomination for a Juvenile Court seat in Western Massachusetts.
Baker's office announced Wednesday the selection of Arose Nielsen, who would replace Judge James Collins, who was appointed to the Juvenile Court seat in Hampden County by Acting Governor Jane Swift in 2001.
The nomination must be approved by the Governor's Council. Neilsen has concentrated on family law and child welfare in the Springfield Juvenile Court and Hampden County Probate and Family Court as a partner at Worcester-based Carvajal and Neilsen, where she has been since 2007, according to a press release.
