A convicted bank robber is accused of killing two engaged doctors in their South Boston penthouse condominium.
Police say Bampumim Teixeira cut the throats of doctors Richard Field and Linda Bolanos Friday night. Teixeira was then shot multiple times by police when they arrived at the scene on Dorchester Avenue.
Police say the victims and suspect were known to each other, and Teixeira is expected to be arraigned today.
Police Commissioner William Evans says they are acting on the belief that Teixeira had some knowledge of the couple.
