Retired President Urges Congress To Act

Former President Barack Obama  says he is "honored and grateful" to receive the John F. Kennedy  Profile in Courage Award.

At a dinner ceremony tonight at the JFK  Library Foundation, Obama  explained his first year in office had many tough votes and debates,  especially when it came to healthcare.

The former President called for  "political courage" in opposing the repeal of Obamacare.  Courage is not just for lawmakers, according to Obama.

He said ordinary Americans who give something of themselves not for  personal gain but for the benefit of another is a great example of  courage.
