A student at Easthampton High School is getting pretrial probation for his alleged role in a fight that started a dialogue on racial tensions at the school.
Eighteen-year-old Joshua Brown was charged with aggravated assault and battery and intimidation of a witness after another student apparently used a racial slur in a text message, which was then posted to social media, and a group confronted the student on March 29th.
Two other juveniles were also disciplined.
As part of the probation, Brown must complete a restorative justice program, refrain from abusing the victim and pay 200-dollars in restitution.
