Unemployment numbers for the month of April are in.
The latest report, released by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, indicates the rate in Springfield moved up to six-point-nine-percent, a tenth-of-a-percent higher than it was in March but a couple of tenths-of-a-percent lower than April 2016.
The Springfield area gained about 54-hundred jobs last month, which is a gain of just over one-percent.
