A search and recovery effort is picking up Friday morning where it left off on Thursday for a missing boater in Southwick.
Rescue crews were looking for the individual, who is presumed to have drowned, at Middle Pond in Congamond Lake.
Police received a call at around 2:30 p.m. from a woman who said her friend had jumped into the pond from a boat and didn't resurface.
The body of water will be closed today while the recovery effort continues, which is being conducted by Southwick police and firefighters, state police, environmental police and the Suffield, Connecticut Police Department.
