State Pays Out Casino Money To Local Cities

Springfield is getting about  31-thousand dollars from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to extend a  free valet parking program in the South End.

The award was part of  two-million dollars in gaming revenue grants announced this week.

Construction of the MGM casino in Springfield has resulted in hundreds  of parking spaces being lost, leading to the offering of valet services,  which are now to be available until the end of the year but could go  longer than that.
