A Springfield man was sentenced Tuesday in Hampden Superior Court to 18 to 20 years in prison for assaulting the owner of a Chicopee bar.
Wilmer Torres had pleaded guilty to armed assault with intent to murder and six other charges from the July 2015 break-in and robbery at Chief's Lounge on Chicopee Street.
Authorities say he, along with another suspect, Jose Villegas-Rodriguez, hit the bar owner with metal pipes after the bar was closed.
Villegas-Rodriguez, of Holyoke, still has a pending case in the matter.
