Massachusetts lawmakers could pass a new law to crack down on second hand smoking in cars.
The "Act to Protect Little Lungs" would ban drivers from smoking cigarettes if they are driving with a child who is young enough for a car seat.
Drivers could have to pay a one-hundred-dollar fine if they are pulled over for smoking with a child in the backseat.
Similar laws are already on the books in 8 states including Vermont.
