A settlement is being announced between the federal government and Peter Pan Bus Lines to resolve discrimination allegations.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says the bus line failed to ensure its motor coaches were accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Specifically, it was alleged that wheelchair lifts, which all buses had, were not properly maintained and frequently malfunctioned.
Peter Pan will test the lifts on a weekly basis and pay damages to an individual who was subjected to repeated delays because of the faulty equipment, according to the terms of the agreement.
