Councilor Looks To Help People In Homeland

The large Puerto Rican community in  Holyoke is keeping a close eye on Hurricane Irma and how it might impact  family members.

The National Hurricane Center says the Category Five  hurricane is producing heavy rain in the U.S. island territory as it  moves west.

Puerto Rico native and Holyoke City Councilor Nelson Roman  says he's organizing a donation drive for islanders.

Roman says that he is meeting with similar groups in Rhode Island and Connecticut in order to come up with donations of personal items for the people in Puerto Rico.
