The attorney for Aaron Hernandez says the former NFL tight end suffered from CTE when he took his own life while in prison.
Jose Baez cited results from the Boston University CTE Center which examined Hernandez' brain for the degenerative disease.
A lawsuit was filed yesterday against the NFL and the New England Patriots by Hernandez fiancee on behalf of their daughter.
Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez claims the NFL and Patriots were fully aware of the damage that could result from repetitive impact injuries and failed to disclose the information, treat or protect him.
Hernandez killed himself in his prison cell in April, just days after he was found not guilty in a double homicide. He was already serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.
