A late October storm is causing plenty of power outages in Western Massachusetts.
Overnight Monday, Eversource reported there were over three-thousand outages in Springfield, West Springfield, Agawam, Longmeadow and Ludlow. National Grid says over ten-thousand customers are affected by outages east of Springfield for Massachusetts towns along the border with Connecticut.
A wind gust of 45 miles per hour was recorded just before 1 a.m. at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, while the top recorded wind gust at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee was 33 miles per hour, measured just before 2 a.m.
Roads are closed throughout the area:
Agawam: North Street, Birch Hill Road downed trees and power lines.
East Longmeadow: Parker Street closed between Allen Street and Porter Road
.Hampden: Roads closed throughout the town.
Ludlow: Chapin and East Streets, closed.
Northampton: Glendale Road closed.
Palmer: Park Street, Baptist Hill Road all closed.
Wilbraham: Stony Hill Road
