Two men recently released from prison for racketeering in the mid-1990s are pleading guilty to new charges of loan-sharking and money laundering.
Springfield residents Rex Cunningham and Brian Hoyle entered the pleas in Hampden Superior Court on Wednesday and agreed to serve a year in county jail.
Massachusetts State Police say the two ran a gambling ring based at two bars in the city.
The pair were scheduled for hearings for their cases on Wednesday when the plea deals were abruptly announced.
