The number of confirmed cases of the flu is on the rise across Connecticut.
State health officials say there are more than 350 lab-confirmed flu cases through mid-December, with 144 people hospitalized.
Officials say the bitter-cold temperatures currently gripping the state make it easier for transmission of the flu virus.
Health officials expect the number of cases to spike next week, when children all return to school after the holiday break.
We are still waiting on Massachusetts figures.
