Multiple Pioneer Valley families are displaced from their homes after New Year's Day fires.
One was reported at a residence on Chestnut Street in Springfield at around 8:30 a.m., forcing three occupants to get out.
Another was reported on Federal Street in Agawam at around 7:30 yesterday morning, displacing six residents.
There's a recent history of notable New Year's Day fires in Western Massachusetts after a blaze on January 1st last year took three lives at an apartment complex in Holyoke.
