No Need To Smile For The Camera

Northampton's city council is  overriding a veto by Mayor David Narkewicz of an ordinance that  restricts city-operated surveillance cameras downtown.

The veto was  addressed during a special meeting on Tuesday.

Many residents spoke  publicly in favor of the override, citing privacy concerns.

Critics of  the ordinance argued the cameras are necessary for downtown because the  area has become too dangerous.
