The state Department of Transportation is planning to study a possible high speed rail link between Boston and Springfield.
Governor Charlie Baker vetoed a bill that would have authorized a feasibility study for the rail line in 2016.
Now, the project has landed on a list for the federal government of the DOT's broad plan for state railroads. The study is expected to begin later this year.
State Senator Eric Lesser says the draft may be commented on by the public through February 16th.
Conspicuous by its absence is a method to pay for the massive undertaking.
Officials say that will be addressed.
