Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties and the northern half of Berkshire County are now under a winter storm warning.
The National Weather Service says five to eight inches of snow, with localized amounts of ten inches, are expected for the former on Wednesday and four to eight inches with localized amounts up to nine inches are predicted for the latter.
For Springfield and the rest of Hampden County, the weather service is calling for three to five inches with localized amounts of up to eight and similar numbers are predicted for the southern Berkshires.
