A long investigation into Boston-area narcotics trafficking is resulting in one of the biggest busts in Massachusetts history.
A warrant sweep was conducted yesterday for suspects in the Operation High Hopes case, and over 40 kilograms of fentanyl was seized.
More than 30 people were arrested, including Edward Soto-Perez and Robert Contreras of Roxbury.
Officials say Operation High Hopes came from the title of a Frank Sinatra song. It came about after one of the defendants was known to wear a fedora, just like Sinatra did from time to time.
Prosecutors say those two men are top level suppliers for national and international drug cartels.
