No Assault Weapons Sold At Dick's

One of the nation's biggest sports retailers is no selling assault-style rifles.

Dick's Sporting Goods said today it's ending sales of the firearms, effective immediately.

Dick's  also says it will no longer sell high-capacity magazines and it won't  sell any type of gun to anyone younger than 21.

The announcement comes  two weeks after a teenager was accused of using an AR-15 to kill 17  people at a high school in Florida.

Dick's  CEO Edward Stack says the new policy is a direct response to the mass  shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Many stores in Connecticut as well as in other parts of the nation, including Massachusetts removed the guns from the stores after Sandy Hook.
