Hand Pleads Not Guilty To Gilpin Murder

A judge is ordering the man accused of  killing teenager Tracy Gilpin in 1986 to remain in custody without  bail.

Michael Hand was extradited from North Carolina to Massachusetts  this week to face a charge of first degree murder.

Hand is accused of  killing the Kingston teenager, who was the sister of current State  Police Colonel Kerry Gilpin, and dumping her body in the woods of  Plymouth.

Prosecutors say Hand placed himself at the scene of the  killing in an interview, although he accuses another man of committing  the murder.

DA Timothy Cruz telling reporters after the arraignment that he is confident in the evidence that connects Hand to the crime.
