State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey is announcing the cause of a deadly fire in Springfield last month.
Ostroskey said during a press conference at the Springfield Fire Department on Wednesday that the fire at an apartment on Belmont Avenue was caused by a child playing with matches.
A father and his two young children were killed in the blaze.
Ostroskey says children using matches and lighters is a common problem nationally and says parents need to take the matter seriously.
