New Wynn Resorts chief executive Matt Maddox says the company is not planning to sell the two-and-a-half-billion-dollar casino under construction in Everett.
It's been rumored that MGM, which is building a new casino in Springfield, would jump on to the eastern Massachusetts casino, which would mean it would have to cut ties with the Springfield project.
Maddox provided the update ahead of an appearance before the state Gaming Commission as he tries to convince the panel that Steve Wynn, who faces sex harassment allegations, is no longer affiliated with the company.
Meantime, MGM Springfield announced this morning that the opening day for the MGM Springfield Casino will be August 24th.
