The state Senate is offering its 41-billion-dollar budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year.
The proposal does not include any new taxes, but it does rely on expected revenues from legal marijuana, casinos and short term rentals to increase spending in several areas.
These include aid to cities and towns, public education and health care for the poor and disabled.
Debate on the budget is expected to begin May 22nd.
After the Senate finishes its work, the bill will go to the Conference Committee to work out differences between the the budgets.
