A bill to increase housing production and preserve housing affordability in Massachusetts is now law.
Governor Charlie Baker signed a one-point-eight-billion-dollar bill today.
The governor says it expands his administration's commitment to ensuring residents statewide have more access to quality, safe and affordable housing and economic opportunities.
Additionally, the bill includes 650-million-dollars for modernization and redevelopment of public housing and 45-million-dollars for improvements at early education and care facilities.
The Governor says that the program will protect affordable housing and keep it under local control.
