Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno is opening Cooling Centers as of Friday and right through the weekend and the area braces for the first of a summertime heat wave with temperatures extending into the mid 90s.
Medical Experts say that you should consume lots of water and take advantage of air conditioning as much as possible during the heat wave.
The Cooling Centers are generally Senior Centers or Libraries. Here is the list as provided by the Springfield Mayors Office.
