Chicopee is the newest Bay State city to file a lawsuit against opioid manufacturers.
Mayor Richard Kos announced on Monday that the city has retained the law firm of Scott and Scott, joining Springfield and Worcester in terms of that specific representation.
According to a statement, there were 242 opioid overdoses in Chicopee in 2016, and 26 city residents died, nearly tripling the number of fatal ODs in 2012.
