Firefighters Get Help After Cancer Diagnosis

A bill that designates cancer as a  work related injury for Massachusetts firefighters is now law.

Governor  Charlie Baker signed the bill into law yesterday at a fire station in  Lynn.

The law requires coverage of all treatments of firefighters  diagnosed with cancer, and provides pay for missed work.

Baker says  cancer is a real hazard of the job, and the new law will make sure the  state is helping those who serve.
