A new study done by WalletHub is reporting the Bay State has the best public school systems in America.
For the third year in a row, the state has been recognized for their performance in the classroom.
The study analyzed student performance, district funding, safety, class size and teacher credentials.
Massachusetts has the highest math and reading test scores, and is tied for the highest median ACT score.
Rounding out the top five were New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont. New Mexico finished in last place.
The results indicate that the higher a state's taxes, the more money they have to spend on education and the better the schools in a state will be.
