Homeless Leave The Common In Greenfield

The well-documented homeless  encampment in the Greenfield Town Common is no more.

The city had set a  previous deadline for the individuals living on the common to leave,  but it was ignored this week.

By Thursday night it appeared most of the  campers had abided by a new city decree that no one can be on the  common starting on Friday until October 1st because land had to be  cleaned and re-seeded.

The Greenfield Police Department has said anyone who tries to  defy that order could be arrested for trespassing.
