Governor Charlie Baker is being criticized by the campaign of his Democratic opponent for agreeing to four fewer debates than he did in 2014.
Jay Gonzalez's campaign is also criticizing Baker for refusing to debate outside the Boston area, including Springfield and Worcester, and for rejecting a debate invitation from Telemundo, the Spanish-language network.
A Jay Gonzalez campaign spokesman says the governor's decision to accept just three debates, none outside the Boston area or on Telemundo, is a slap in the face to people who live in other parts of the state and to the Latino community.
