The Cannabis Control Commission is signing off on final licenses for a pair of recreational marijuana hopefuls in Massachusetts.
A license was given to New England Treatment Access, which is seeking to add a retail store to its medical marijuana dispensary in Northampton, and a store in Leicester received one as well, called Cultivate Holdings.
Commission chair Steven Hoffman said on Thursday the state is weeks away from seeing the first retail pot shops open.
Hoffman telling reporters that the next step is for the state to approve testing sites for recreational consumption but he believes by the end of the month everything should get done.
