Federal Money Will Help To Revamp Center

The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority  is getting nearly two-and-a-half-million dollars for a new project.

The  money from the U.S. Department of Transportation is for the renovation  of a maintenance facility in the North End of Springfield, according to an announcement from Congressman Richard Neal,

Springfield  Mayor Domenic Sarno and PVTA Administrator Sandra Sheehan yesterday.

The fixed-route bus upkeep garage, which is over a century old, will be  converted to a facility for paratransit operations and maintenance hub.
