Founder Of Arise For Social Justice To Retire

Michaelann Bewsee says she is retiring from Arise For Social Justice, the agency she founded some 33 years ago.

The agency came in the aftermath of a battle with the then Ed King Administration, in a battle over cuts to welfare programs back in the 1980's.

Bewsee says she is retiring but will not be silent on any of the issues that are important to her.

She also says that among the accomplishments she is most proud of is her campaign that helped bring the city of Springfield to Ward Representation.

Bewsee has been an outspoken critic of injustices in social and financial issues.
