One man is being sentenced for involvement in an ATM-skimming scheme in Massachusetts and other states.
The U.S. Justice Department says a group of individuals installed skimming devices in Amherst, Chicopee, Southwick, and Whatley, as well as six other Massachusetts cities, in Enfield, Connecticut, and elsewhere over an 18-month period.
Nicusor Bonculescu, a Romanian national, was sentenced on Tuesday to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty in March to charges including racketeering and identity theft.
Two other Romanian nationals, Suedin Chiciu and Florinel Vaduv, also entered guilty pleas yesterday in connection to the case and will be sentenced later, according to the DOJ.
