Springfield City Councilors are expected to override Mayor Dom Sarno's veto of a measure that would make the city more friendly toward the immigrant population without regard of the person's immigration status.
The Mayor says the measure would make the city something akin to a Sanctuary City something that the mayor has been fighting for sometime.
The Councilors easily passed the original measure.
Nine of the 13 city councilors would have to vote to override.
It is unclear whether the city would challenge the measure in court.
