A former Hadley police officer is being found guilty of using excessive force against a person who was placed under arrest.
The U.S. Justice Department says Christopher Roeder of Agawam was found guilty yesterday of using unreasonable force and then falsifying a police report.
Prosecutors said Roeder struck an arrestee in the face. while he was seated in the Hadley Police Department booking area in 2017, causing his nose to be fractured in several places.
Roeder faces up to twenty years in prison when he's sentenced by a federal judge.
