Anyone who talks with the Springfield Mayor over the last year or so has heard him say words to the effect that he is "thrilled and honored to be Mayor of the city and if he runs again he will continue to do the hard work on behalf of residents"
"If" is no longer in the game.
Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno has begun the process of running for mayor again. He has taken out nomination papers and is beginning the task of collecting nomination signatures. Those signatures must be in the Elections Office by May 28th.
The Mayor is expected to be challenged by City Councilor Orlando Ramos. He has yet to announce plans for his political future, but could very well announce whether he is running or not sometime by the end of the month.
