Man Pleads Guilty To Trafficking Drugs In Federal Court

A Massachusetts man is pleading guilty in connection to a large-scale drug-trafficking ring that ran from the Dominican Republic and the Bronx, New York to Springfield.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Francisco Sandoval of Lawrence entered the plea to one count of fentanyl distribution.

Prosecutors say the trafficking ring moved dozens of kilos of heroin and fentanyl into the City of Homes.

Sandoval is scheduled to be sentenced in July.
