The Springfield Mayor is calling for a review in connection with two incidents surrounding entertainment venues in the city.
Dom Sarno says he is upset with the violence. One incident was on the State Street corridor across the street from the Aquarius Lounge Saturday night where one police officer was shot at and sustained injuries to his arm in a shootout with a suspect. That suspect was later arrested and officials say they continue to look for an additional suspect.
In the second incident which happened early Monday morning, four people were stabbed by a suspect outside of a Hookah Lounge across from Tower Square.
Mayor Sarno says he is disheartened by the recent events and wants both events investigated as to exactly what happened and what management did in each case.
The Mayor is calling on all establishments in the city to run what he called "A Clean Ship."
